Take Care Ch.10

So Ulrich had kissed Odd in front of the whole school. He didn’t seem to care if people got to know. Odd looked at Ulrich, his face being completely red.  He didn’t have the courage to turn to look somewhere else. He was afraid to see shocking and confusing faces, which the blond didn’t want to see. Ulrich took Odd’s hand, and started to take him inside the school.
“Wh-where are we going?”
Odd asked, a little confused. Ulrich didn’t answer, he just hold Odd’s hand gently while pulled the smaller boy along. They disappeared through the school door with confused and partly mocking comments from others.
Aelita, Yumi and Jeremy looked at each other very confused. This was somewhat surprising. Yumi knew something about this, she had been around during the scene in the forest. However, she had not seen so much that she could guess something like this.
“I didn’t know...very surprising..”
Aelita explained vaguely. Jeremy glanced at Yumi.
“Did you know?”
Jeremy asked Yumi and was waiting for her reaction more than her answer. Yumi kept only looking at the school door where the boys had gone in.
“No... I didn’t.”
Yumi said with little jealousy in her voice. Jeremy looked at Yumi with wonder. He knew about Yumi and William. He had known for a long time. In his opinion it would be about time for Yumi to decide who she wants to be with.

Ulrich stopped at the hall, maybe even too fast. Odd was walking fast behind him, and when he stopped, Odd bumped into Ulrich and hit his broken hand to brunette’s back. Odd let out a small whimper which made Ulrich turn around.
“I’m sorry. Are you okay?”
Ulrich said with little worry and stroked the shoulder of the broken hand. Odd startled a bit, mostly because he had not gotten used to Ulrich’s kindness.  Ulrich sighed, as if he was disappointed and grabbed Odd’s healthy hand again. Odd blushed again.
“Let’s skip the damn whole day...I’m tired of school and I want to talk to you anyway.”
Ulrich mumbled while walking. Odd looked at Ulrich, or more like at his back because they were still walking down the hall, Ulrich leading the way. Odd was wondering Ulrich’s sudden decision to skip school. What was going on in his mind?
“If you want...”
Odd said and made him sound like some kind of slave. Ulrich grinned at this and slowed down so that he was walking right next to Odd. Odd turned his eyes off of Ulrich, probably because he didn’t want him to see how red he had gotten.
“Hm..here is the door to our room.”
Ulrich said suddenly and stopped. Odd winced. When had they walked to the dorms? Ulrich gently pushed Odd forward, hurrying him to step in the room. Odd resisted a little first. He started to feel like he was being taken to some kind of interrogation room. However, Odd agreed to go to the room, and Ulrich closed the door behind him.
“Odd... can I ask you a question?”
Ulrich said while sitting on his bed. Odd looked at Ulrich quietly first and finally nodded. Ulrich recommended Odd to sit down, and Odd sat right next to Ulrich like automatically. The boy startled himself at his own movement too. Ulrich smiled at Odd, and put his hand on his knee. Odd felt small chills going through his spine. Good kind of chills.
“Would you...”
Ulrich started, but took a small break before the next word. Odd looked at Ulrich expectantly, and finally there was some red on Ulrich’s face as well. Ulrich wiped his hair a bit and scratched his head as if he was buying time.
“Would you like to date me?”
Ulrich finally said. Odd looked at Ulrich confusingly, still blushing. Ulrich waited anxiously an answer. He hoped in his heart that the answer wouldn’t be no. Odd turned to look at the ground first, then to the ceiling.
“Are you... serious?”
Odd said very quietly. He seemed to hesitate. Small panic filled Ulrich and he tried to think of something that would convince this small blond completely.
“Of course I am! Why else would I kiss you in front of the whole school? I’m serious, believe me!”
Ulrich explained looking at Odds eyes intensively. Odd turned to look at Ulrich. There was indeed a hopeful look on Ulrich’s face, and Odd sighed, like in love.
“Would you?”
Odd asked, like avoiding the answer. Ulrich growled at Odd and without any warning pressed his lips against the blond’s lips. The sudden kiss lasted longer than both had imagined.
“Of course I want!”
Ulrich said after ending the kiss. Odd smiled happily, and nodded.
“In that case my answer is yes.”
